Packaging for Wellness® CORE™ Dog and CORE™ Cat Products Earn Distinction
Tewksbury, Massachusetts (November 28, 2007) - Old Mother Hubbard®, maker of the Wellness® brand, and a leading national provider of natural pet foods, supplements and treats, today announced that its packaging for the new-to-market CORE™ Dog and CORE™ Cat food product lines has been recognized by BRANDPACKAGING magazine as a best consumer package design. Wellness was named winner in the Flexible Packaging category in BRANDPACKAGING magazine's 2007 Annual Design Gallery, a showcase of strategically and successfully executed consumer package designs.
BRANDPACKAGING magazine singled out the Wellness CORE Dog and Wellness CORE Cat food packaging for its originality and creativity in embracing structural innovation, connecting with graphic appeal, providing consumer utility and conveying brilliant marketplace insights. Developed in conjunction with Hughes Design Group, an award winning packaging design firm in Norwalk, Connecticut, the design for Wellness CORE Dog and Wellness CORE Cat foods has once again raised the bar in the pet food industry by differentiating super premium pet foods at shelf.
"We took a crafted, super premium approach with the design of Wellness CORE to instantly capture Wellness' targeted consumer; one who is looking for the very best in the new grain free, higher protein pet food category", said Barney Hughes, President, Creative Director, Hughes Design Group.
