Wellness® Makes a Splash with Contribution to Pennsylvania SPCA
Tewksbury, Massachusetts (October 16, 2008) - The Wellness WellPet® Foundation today announced a $5,000 donation to the Pennsylvania SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Dog Park.
The Pennsylvania SPCA is dedicated to rescuing animals from abuse and neglect.
The Pennsylvania SPCA prevents cruelty towards animals, promotes respect for their welfare, and enhances the lives of people and their companion animals throughout the state of Pennsylvania by promoting healthy lifestyles and the compassionate treatment of animals.
The Wellness WellPet Foundation donation will provide a doggie pool for the PSCPA Dog Park's communal play area, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2009. The doggie pool will provide a great place for dogs to cool off, play and exercise, particularly for those dogs that have never before had access to water due to neglect or cruelty.
"The Wellness donation of the doggie pool will allow dogs to enjoy a fun, yet healing and transformative experience for those who have had previous unhealthy living situations," said PSPCA Development Director Rachel McCrystal. "The pool will be a significant addition to this natural, meaningful environment for dogs, their owners, and potential adopters."
The donation reflects the mission of Wellness' WellPet Foundation: responsibility, passion and commitment, as the company works to do the very best for the pets that provide us with unconditional love, trust and companionship.
