Happy Healthy Cat Month
Happy Healthy Cat Month Starts Here
September is Happy Healthy Cat Month, and we’re celebrating all month long with feline-focused fun, expert tips, nutrition education, giveaways, and plenty of ways to help your cat live their happiest, healthiest life. From hydration and mealtime inspiration to enrichment ideas and cat care resources, we’ll be sharing content designed to help cat parents learn, discover, and celebrate their favorite furry family members throughout the month.
As part of the celebration, we’re bringing a little extra cat magic to Wellness. Meet Pascal and Poppy, two rescue kittens who became part of the extended Wellness family after being adopted during a volunteer event with the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Follow along on social media for behind-the-scenes moments, cat care tips, adorable feline content, and more.
Simple Ways to Support a Happy, Healthy Cat
1: Keep Them Guessing at Mealtime
Think your cat is being picky? They may just be bored. Many feline experts believe cats can experience “menu fatigue” when served the same meal every day. Rotating flavors, proteins, and textures can create a richer sensory experience and help keep mealtime exciting. At Wellness, we have over 100 different wet cat food forms, flavors, and recipes for you to choose from.
2: Learn Their Love Language
Cats are communicating with us all the time. A raised tail can signal confidence, while slow blinks are often considered a sign of trust and affection. Learning to read your cat’s body language can help deepen your bond and give you insight into how they’re feeling.
3: Keep Curious Cats Curious
Cats may spend much of the day sleeping, but they’re natural hunters at heart. Interactive toys, wand teasers, cat trees, and treat puzzles provide enrichment that helps keep cats mentally stimulated and physically active. Even just 10 to 15 minutes of daily play can go a long way.
4: Hydration Doesn’t Have to Be Boring
Keeping your cat hydrated is important for overall health, but many cats don’t have a strong instinct to drink water throughout the day. Moisture-rich foods like wet food can help support hydration, while multiple water stations, fountains, and fresh water sources may encourage them to drink more.
